Management Team
CP Packaging's management team have combined experience of over one hundred years in design, engineering, manufacturing and business operations of hard goods manufacturers and service providers within the packaging industry and business in general. The team consists of:
Raymond G. Buchko, Sr. - Founder/President/CEO
Ray Buchko began his career in the packaging industry at Mahaffey & Harder Engineering in 1972 where he participated in the development of the continuous motion bacon packaging machine. He also was responsible for customer support and field service training. In 1975, Ray joined Curwood, Inc. where he initially served as service manager for the east coast ultimately transferring to headquarters in Wisconsin to assume national responsibility for handling customer troubleshooting and product development issues. While at Curwood, Ray received 5 patents and participated in the development of the 220R luncheon meat machine, the Pioneer packaging machine, Pathfinder hot dog packaging machine and the RV400 continuous motion packaging machine. Ray received the DuPont Award for the RV400 Packaging Machine. This was the first time DuPont gave this award for a machine and not a package. The RV400 is considered the world's fastest vacuum packaging machine.
In 1989, Ray founded RapidPak, Inc. where he developed the proprietary technology in use today for the RP family of machines. During his ownership tenure, Rapid-Pak was recognized as one of the 500 fastest growing companies in corporate America by Inc. Magazine. Ray sold Rapid-Pak in 2000.
Ray founded CP Packaging, LLC in 2003.
Raymond G. Buchko, Jr. - Vice President of Operations
Ray Buchko, Jr. began his career at Rapid-Pak, Inc in 1991 where he handled equipment assembly, electrical and programming operations and customer support in the field. He remained at Rapid-Pak through the ownership transition where he integrated its field organization into new product lines. Ray, Jr. was then promoted to regional sales manager to support the sales efforts of 8 salesmen. He was then promoted to product line sales manager to manage the national sales of Rapid-Pak's entire product line.
Ray Jr. joined CP Packaging in 2005 as Vice President of Operations where he manages the production, purchasing and sales areas of the company as well as participating in new product development.
Wayne P. Henry - Secretary / Treasurer & C.F.O.
Wayne Henry began his career in 1973 at Deloitte (formerly Touche Ross & Co.) one of the largest international accounting firms in the world where he managed manufacturing and distribution clients located in the metropolitan New York area. Wayne has been a licensed Certified Public Accountant for over thirty years.
Since 1980, Wayne has been an executive officer of seven companies, serving as President / CEO of four companies including JWP / Businessland Canada, LTD., TwentyFirst Century Associates, Inc., and Southeast Provisions, LLC. In addition to his responsibilities at CP Packaging, Wayne is President/CEO of Yancey's Fancy, Inc., a leading western New York manufacturer of Artisan cheeses whose products are sold nationwide.
Wayne has been with CP Packaging since its inception in 2003. He is responsible for finance, technology and business operations.
Dwayne Long - Engineering Manager
Dwayne Long is a licensed Professional Engineer with over twelve years of experience in the aerospace, durable goods and packaging industries. He began his career in 1996 as a design engineer at Allied Signal Aerospace. He then joined Kimberly Clark Corporation as a project engineer being responsible for multiple assignments developing industrial equipment. In 2000, Dwayne joined Waupaca Elevator Co. Inc. where he created their engineering team of twelve professionals with electrical, mechanical and software expertise as well as developing the infrastructure to manage the department.
Dwayne joined CP Packaging in 2005 where he manages the Company's engineering process including intellectual property policies, document control, new product development, and ECR/ECN process.
Nicholas Buchko - Service Manager
Nick Buchko has spent the last 28 years in field service, customer support and manufacturing. His initial training was from the Teterboro School of Aeronautics where he became certified as a licensed aircraft mechanic. In 1980 he joined Mahaffey & Harder Engineering as a machine assembler and was subsequently promoted to field service technician where he serviced its customers throughout the east coast. He left Mahaffey & Harder Engineering in 1984 to join Curwood, Inc. in a similar capacity. After a short stint at Scott Paper, Nick then joined Rapid Pak in 1990 where he spent over 15 years in field service, customer support and assembly.
Nick joined CP Packaging in 2007. He is responsible for field service, product installation, training and customer support. He is also a part of the manufacturing team responsible for the assembly of the company's products. Nick is the brother of Ray Buchko, Sr.
